Course terms and conditions

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your enrolment in and participation in any course provided by IT Security Locksmith Limited ("we", "us", "our").

By registering for or attending a course, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not enrol.

3. Course Enrolment and Payment

3.1 Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering for a course.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel enrolment at our discretion.

3.2 Payment

Full payment must be received before access to the course is granted.

Payment is accepted via bank transfer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

You are responsible for ensuring payment is made by the required deadline.

Failure to pay may result in cancellation of your booking.

4. Course Delivery

4.1 Delivery Format

Courses may be delivered in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format.

Details will be confirmed prior to the course date.

4.2 Changes and Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify course content, speakers, or delivery format
  • Reschedule a course to an alternative date
  • Cancel a course where necessary

If we cancel a course:

You will be offered either:

  • A place on a rescheduled course, or
  • A full refund of fees paid

We shall not be liable for any additional costs (e.g. travel, accommodation, or loss of time).

5. Participant Responsibilities

By enrolling, you agree to:

  • Participate in good faith and cooperate with course delivery
  • Not disrupt or interfere with other participants
  • Comply with all reasonable instructions provided by us

We reserve the right to remove participants without refund if behaviour is disruptive, inappropriate, or unlawful.

5.1 Use of Course Materials

You must not:

  • Record, reproduce or distribute course content
  • Share materials outside your organisation
  • Use content for unauthorised or unlawful purposes

5.2 Confidentiality and Chatham House Rule

Courses may operate under the Chatham House Rule.

You may use the information received, but:

  • You must not reveal the identity or affiliation of other participants
  • You must treat non-public information shared during the course as confidential

6. Intellectual Property

All course materials, content, and methodologies are owned by or licensed to IT Security Locksmith Limited.

You are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to use materials for:

  • Personal use
  • Internal business purposes

You must not:

  • Copy, publish, distribute, sell or exploit course materials
  • Create derivative works

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy

7.1 Participant Cancellation

Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the course start time are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the course are non-refundable.

Failure to attend without notice is treated as a cancellation.

7.2 Substitutions and Transfers

We may, at our discretion, allow:

  • Substitution of attendees
  • Transfer to another course date

8. Course Content Disclaimer

Course content is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

It does not constitute:

  • Professional advice
  • Cybersecurity consulting
  • Cryptographic or recovery services
  • Legal or financial advice

Content reflects knowledge at the time of delivery and may evolve.

9. Cryptocurrency and Cybersecurity Disclaimers

Due to the nature of cybersecurity and cryptographic systems:

  • Outcomes cannot be guaranteed
  • Vulnerabilities and threats continuously evolve
  • Technical environments differ between organisations

Where course content refers to cryptocurrency systems or recovery:

  • No representation is made that recovery of digital assets is possible
  • No guarantee is given that any method discussed will be successful
  • Participants must not rely on course content as a basis for financial or technical decisions without independent advice

10. No Guarantee of Outcomes

We do not guarantee:

  • Any specific business, technical or security outcomes
  • Certification, improvement in security posture, or performance
  • That course content will meet your individual objectives

Participants are solely responsible for how they apply knowledge gained.

11. No Consultancy Relationship

Participation in a course:

  • Does not create a consultancy, advisory or fiduciary relationship
  • Does not constitute ongoing professional engagement

Separate written agreements are required for advisory or recovery services.

12. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

Subject to the above, to the fullest extent permitted by law:

We shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect or consequential loss
  • Loss of profits, revenue, business or opportunity
  • Loss or corruption of data

Our total liability arising from a course shall not exceed the amount paid for that course.

13. Website and Technical Risks

Virtual courses depend on third-party technologies.

We are not responsible for:

  • Internet connectivity issues
  • Participant hardware or software failures
  • Disruptions beyond our reasonable control

14. Data Protection

We will process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

15. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure results from events beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters
  • Technical failures
  • Industrial disputes
  • Government action
  • Network or infrastructure outages

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Changes will not affect bookings already confirmed unless required by law.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
